IL Dept. of Public Health Lab GC/CT Urine Specimen Collection and Submission Training

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Lab GC/CT Urine Specimen Collection and Submission Training is a 45 minute presentation on the proper collection of a urine specimen for gonorrhea/chlamydia testing using the Becton Dickinson Probetec testing system.  In addition, appropriate submission and shipping procedures are reviewed to instruct submitters on the US Postal regulations for the shipping of biological specimens. The on-line training is in a MS PowerPoint format with a voice overlay.  Providers participating in the Illinois Infertility Prevention Program and submitting urine GC/CT specimens to an IDPH Laboratory are required to review the training material and pass a post test quiz.  Questions regarding this training should be directed to the Illinois Department of Public Health STD Section by calling 217-782-2747.
